Gt Harwood Rovers 1 – 3 Sabden

Sabden will contest the Terry Cattermole trophy with Church Town on May 24th, after they put in a solid performance to defeat Great Harwood Rovers at the weekend.
Sabden broke the deadlock on 15 minutes. Powerful centre-back Ryan Ellis found himself in an advanced position on the left, following a set piece. A pinpoint cross found Jack Birkett steaming in to power a header into the net.
An intriguing midfield battle meant that the game had to wait until shortly before half time for its second goal. This time, David Fallon broke down the right, before squaring the ball unselfishly to Charlie Collinge who tapped the ball home.
Collinge returned the favour to Fallon just after the hour mark; and Sabden were now in total control of the tie.
There was brief cause for concern when Harwood pulled a goal back with their first real attempt on target after 72 minutes, with full-back Jonny Heap`s heroic headed attempt to save the certain goal just failing to clear the bar.
However, Sabden held firm after that and secured their place in the Cup Final.

Birkett (15), Collinge (42), Fallon (61)

Nemanja Birkett`s imperious and powerful display in the centre of midfield laid the foundations for the landmark victory
